This is my mommy and grandma. They are big supporters in everything I do. I have always been a “mama’s girl”. My mom has always made me feel loved. She raised me with good morals and values. She has always encouraged me to make good decisions and be careful about the people I center myself around. My grandma has always made me feel loved and supported through her words and actions.
These are my cousins Tashana and Natasha. They are really like my sisters. I have wanted to be like them all my life. They have taught me so much. I learned how to read and write from watching them. They have taught me about clothing and fashion, womanhood, men, and so much more. As kids we would play with barbie dolls together, watch videos, sing songs and the list goes on. There has not been a day in my life where I have not been trying accomplish one of the many things I have watched them accomplish. They have been great role models.
This is my uncle James. I call him Uncle Shorty. I was very short as a child and he use to call me “shorty”. In response I would say “no, you’re shorty”. Its been his name ever since. Although my dad is in my life my uncle has always been a very present male figure in my life. He took me to my first basketball game to see my favorite player at the time. I remember being so excited. He has given me advice about men. He has always been an excellent spiritual role model. He is so funny. There is never a dull moment when he is around. He is such a great example of a man and how a man should care for, love and provide for his family.
This is Ms. Wallace. She has worked with my mom for 35 years. She has known me all my life. I am very close with her son. He is like a brother to me. She has always been there at all the important events in my life such as birthdays and graduations. She has given great advice, and also given me furniture when I rented my first apartment. She has always felt like a second mother to me.
This is Mrs.Michelle Boyd-Doleman. She was my pre-school teacher. She has been teaching for 32 years. I am so grateful we still keep in touch. I can remember many times as a child spending weekends with her and going on trips with her family. She has always been like a god-mother or an aunt to me. She has given me such good advice over the years. I remember one occasion when Mrs. Doleman stopped by to see me at my first job(at a grocery store). I had not come into work yet. She told one of my co-workers “Tell her the lady the potty-trained her came in to see her”. My co-workers laughed at me for weeks!

This is one of my favorite pictures. This was a birthday given to me on my last birthday by the lovely child that is in the background of this blog. She is the daughter of one of my childhood friends. I chose this picture because I thought it was thoughtful of her to make me a birthday card even if she misspelled birthday ๐
I wanted to share a picture of my sister because she is one of my inspirations. She has been teaching for 11 years. She has taught grades K-2. She has been the greatest role model for my younger sister and I. She has been such a supporter of me and my dreams. I hope to be as successful as she is as I embark on my journey to follow in her footsteps.
